While we normally don't post interviews conducted by other sources, BMI has approached us and specifically asked if we could share their recent interview with songwriting power couple Bobby Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, so we were of course happy to share it!
Lopez is the EGOT (Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony) winning composer behind such musicals as Avenue Q and The Book of Mormon. Lopez-Anderson is an actress and songwriter who has written songs for Winnie the Pooh, In Transit, and Finding Nemo: The Musical. Together they wrote the soundtrack to Disney's Frozen, including the ubiquitous Oscar-winner "Let It Go." In this interview, they discuss the development of Frozen, what it's like to be married to your collaborator, and their new musical Up Here coming soon to La Jolla Playhouse.
